    Melbourne (Australia) - The Participatory Innovation Conference 2012 (PIN-C 2012) has announced the keynote speakers for the five conference tracks. Swinburne University Faculty of Design, in collaboration with SPIRE of the University of Southern Denmark, will host the symposium 12-14 January 2012 in Melbourne (Australia). Five conference tracks explore sources of innovation and ways to invite outside participation.

    Montreal (Canada) - Iridescent: Icograda Journal of Design Research has appointed Teal Triggs as Supervising Editor. Teal will serve as supervising Editor for the 2011-2013 term overseeing the journal's activities and aligning it with international research standards.

    New York (United States) - This year AIGA launched 'Making the Case,' a competition awarding honours to case studies demonstrating the value of design in a clear, compelling and accessible way. Honours were awarded to nine outstanding case studies for the inaugural competition held by AIGA, the professional association of design in the United States.

    Seoul (Korea) - The 2011 UNESCO Creative Cities Network Conference is taking place in Seoul from 16-17 November. The mayors and representatives of 29 Creative Cities in 19 countries will participate, as well as domestic and international experts and specialists in creativity, including university students majoring in pertinent majors.

    Singapore – The President of Singapore and the new patron of Singapore’s top design award, Dr Tony Tan, bestowed the honours to 12 designers and designs at the President’s Design Award ceremony on 10 November. This award is the highest accolade conferred to an individual or organisation in the field of design in Singapore. It honours the achievements and contributions of designers and designs that have made a difference to the lives of Singaporeans and to the larger global community.

    Hsichih City (Taiwan - Chinese Taipei) - The Taiwan International Graphic Design Award has announced the winners of the this year's Taiwan International Poster Design Award and Taiwan International CI Design Award. More than 1393 design works were submitted from 32 different countries and regions for these two competitions.

    Tokyo (Japan) – Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP), Japanʼs only comprehensive design promotion organisation, has released the results of Special Award winners of Good Design Award 2011 as of 9 November. Special Award winners were selected from all Good Design Award 2011 winners. Fifty six entries were recognised across six award categories.

    Zurich (Switzerland) - The first ever font market will take place in Zurich on 10 December during Dezember Bucher 2011. Font designers from Switzerland and abroad are invited to sell their own fonts, catalogues, and posters. European font designers are invited, enabling them to benefit from the excitement of mutual exchange and to present a unique, colourful array of products to a large and interested public.
