    Washington (United States) - The Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) has announced a late deadline of 14 February 2012 for the SEGD Global Design Awards. Entries are still welcome for the regular deadline of 31 January 2012.

    Aarhus (Denmark) - The Danish Poster Museum (Dansk Plakatmuseum) seeks submission to their 'To Be Human' open international poster competition as part of the Aarhus International Poster Show 2012. The deadline for entries is 1 April 2012.

    Zagreb (Croatia) - The Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts (ULUPUH) has announced the full jury list for its International Exhibition of Graphic Design and Visual Communications, Zgraf 11. The deadline for submissions is 31 January 2012. Selected works will be exhibited at the main Zgraf exhibition, 15 March - 5 April 2012, and will be published in the Zgraf catalogue.

    Paris (France) - Poster for Tomorrow recently announced the brief for their annual poster competition. This year the theme is 'Gender Equality Now!' with the call for entries set to open on 8 March 2012. The deadline to submit is 10 July 2012, followed by online jury voting 20 July - 10 September 2012, a live jury session on 5 October 2012 and the Worldwide exhibitions will open 10 December 2012.

    Washington (United States) - SEGD, the Society for Environmental Graphic Design, announced the appointment of seven new members to its international Board of Directors. Amy Lukas, principal of Infinite Scale (Salt Lake City) and a board member since 2007, is the new board president, succeeding Wayne McCutcheon, principal of Entro Communications (Toronto).

    London (United Kingdom) - The 2012 Sir Misha Black Medal and Award will be conferred during a public ceremony to be held at the Royal College of Art on 8 March 2012. Professor Ezio Manzini of Italy, who has been working for more than two decades in the field of design for sustainability, will be awarded the 2012 Sir Misha Black Medal for Distinguished Services to Design Education.

    Montréal (Canada) - Icograda continues its longstanding endorsement of the international package design competition Young Package 2012. Model Obaly and CZECHDESIGN.CZ have announced the 17 annual international competition aimed at young designers from all around the world. The deadline for online registration is 15 March 2012.

    Amsterdam (Netherlands) - open :output, a project of the :output Foundation, has launched a job board for junior designers and internships. The core idea is to establish fair working conditions for young designers - as set out in the ':output code of honour' - and give design studios access to the open :output community of young talents in design and architecture. The beta version is online now and covers at the moment mainly Germany (to be extended in a later stage).

    Seoul (South Korea) - Seoul Metropolitan Government appointed Prof. Ahn Sang Soo as the Chairman of the Board of Seoul Design Foundation. Among other projects during his three-year tenure, Ahn will preside over the opening of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), a cultural and heritage centre in support of the design industry.

    Amsterdam (Netherlands) - The call for submission for the 2011 edition of the :output awards are open until 15 February 2012. Now in its 15 year, the International Student Award for Young Talents in Design and Architecture invites entries to compete for the Grand Prix or to be featured in the :output 2012 yearbook.
