    Helsinki (Finland) - The European Design Innovation Initiative (EDII), launched by the European Commission to strengthen the connection between design, innovation and competitiveness, will now be supported by its own secretariat, situated at the Designium Innovation Centre operating in connection with the Aalto University in Helsinki.

    London (United Kingdom) - The Sir Misha Black Award for Innovation in Design Education for 2011 has been awarded to Creative Research into Sound Arts Practice (CRiSAP) at the University of the Arts. The Award will be presented to the directors of CRiSAP, Dr Cathy Lane and Dr Angus Carlyle, at a special ceremony on 8 March 2011, at the Royal College of Art.

    Montreal (Canada) - The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (Icsid) is proud to unveil the World Design Impact Prize, an innovative and interactive design prize dedicated to recognising, empowering and stimulating socially responsible industrial design projects and initiatives around the world. Starting 22 February 2011, Icsid will begin accepting nominations from its member organisations.
