Vuoden Huiput Festival
once again brings together Finnish and foreign participants in various creative practices. The theme of the festival’s 3rd edition is COURAGE. During the one-day festival participants will get a chance to be inspired by high-level keynote speakers and meet some of the most forward-thinking minds of the field, attend creative talks and workshops as well as network with other creative professionals. The objectives for the festival include raising the quality of design in Finland, strengthening creativity and originality and providing a platform for networking and professional development.
This year's festival anticipates approximately 400 creative minds to join the event next Spring.
Vuoden Huiput Creative Festival was organised for the first time in 2017 as a side event for Vuoden Huiput Best of Finnish Advertising and Design Competition, organised since 1980. Vuoden Huiput is organised by Grafia
, an organisation promoting the benefits of its members, which include professionals and students of graphic design, marketing communications, digital visual design, illustration and layout design among others. At the festival, the programme is curated so that design in its many forms is present in all presentations.
Speakers will include professionals working with graphic design, illustration, marketing communications, experience design, typography and digital design among others. The programme consists of keynote speeches, presentations, workshops and discussions. Confirmed speakers include Jessica Walsh (Sagmeister&Walsh), Erik Kessels (KesselsKramer) and Cool Shit.
In addition to the keynote speeches, the festival venue will feature non-stop workshops working on a drop-in basis. Following the festival day, Jessica Walsh will host a workshop on Friday 8th March. Full programme and timetables will be published at festival.vuodenhuiput.fi
in February 2019.
