Grand Awards

The 2016 European Design Agency of the year is Raffinerie AG für Gestaltung. Based in Zurich, Raffinerie was established in March 2000. It is an internationally renowned agency managed by the three Creative Directors Reto Ehrbar, Christian Haas and Nenad Kovačić. The company employs a dedicated team of 15 design specialists and offers a wide range of services: art direction, corporate design, editorial design and illustration.

The Jury Prize was awarded to the Handkerchief.

The ED-Awards Best of Show was won again by Raffinerie, making this a “first” for two different reasons: It’s the first time a studio wins two of the Grand Awards in the same year and the first time a studio wins the “best of show” title twice (Raffinerie had won it again six years ago).

The ED-Awards Jury Prize was awarded to the Handkerchief, a student project that has grown into something bigger: a magazine made to tackle serious issues and distributed free of charge to its audience throughout Italy.
