Organised by Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, Guangzhou Design Week is an annual international event for promoting innovation and design. Guangzhou Design Week started in 2006 and is becoming a highly influential, exclusive, popular and large annual promotion event in Chinese design industry.

Guangzhou Design Week 2011 is scheduled for 5-11 December 2011, under the theme 'Design is Value.' Over the past five years, the design week has been developed aiming to be the most influential by being comprehensive, international and the largest design festival in China. The main components of the event are: Design+Brands Fair, International Industrial Design Expo, The Design Tour, Design Week Awards and related forums.

Jintang Prize, China Interior Design Award

A central focus of the week is the Jintang Prize - formerly the Jinyang Prize from 2006-2009 - China Interior Design Award. In 2010, nearly all top distinguished interior architects and designers in China competed for the award. There are 10 categories, including hotel, office, retail, club and hospitality, restaurant, show flat and exhibition, apartment and villa, and public space design. It has been widely regarded as the most influential annual interior architects' and designers' award in China.
