2018 Adobe Design Achievement Award—record year!

18 July 2018
The 2018 ADAA closed with 8,106 Entries submitted by students from 94 countries around the world, making this year the most successful year yet!

Yet again the Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) have beaten all previous records, establishing 2018 as the most successful year for the competition. 8,106 entries were submitted by higher education students and recent graduates from 94 countries around the world. As a comparable, the 2015 competition had a total of 2617 entries, a more than three-fold increase in three years. While the highest participation is still from the Unites States, where Adobe is located, the highest participation rates outside the United States were in India (794 entries), South Korea (454 entries) and Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) (433 entries).

Award categories range from Photography, Illustration, Animation to App and Game Design and Video-Editing but we are proud to note that the highest participation rates are systematically in Graphic Design, with 'Fine Art: Graphic Design/Print' and 'Commercial: Print/ Graphic/Illustration' as the two most contested categories.

Educational Institutions might be interested in knowing that students from over 900 campuses in every corner of the world have submitted work, including New York City's School of Visual Arts with 100 semifinalist entires (United States), RMIT University with 18 semifinalists entries (Australia), Greenside Design Center with 21 semifinalists entries (South Africa) and Nanyang Technological University with 8 semifinalists entries (Singapore). This is a very effective way for Universities to gain recognition through the quality of students they graduate.
