Upon announcing the winners, the panel of judges remarked on the high level of research and development that went into individual projects, noting that student's works were confident and uplifting in their approach and presentation, and demonstrated a sense of place and purpose, strong design response, and clean, clear concepts.

The judges unanimously awarded Dylan White, University of Canberra, ACT, the overall AGOTYA Award of Excellence, for a project exhibiting exceptional innovation, creativity in response to technical parameters, and a commitment to core values of sustainability.
