Melbourne (Australia) - A bunch of young Melbournians are on a mission to show that graphic design can help people. And it's time to enter their second annual poster design competition to help prove it. From 12 July - 10 September, Positive Posters is asking graphic designers all over the world to submit a positive design in response to the 2010 theme 'a glass half full'.

Entry to this Icograda-endorsed competition is free, prizes are amazing and Positive Posters will print 4000 copies of the winning design and paste it around Melbourne. And send a few off around the globe too. Their aim is to challenge and inspire people to make a positive change in the way they live their lives.

"We started the competition last year with no expectations. But ended up with 339 entries, from 53 countries. The third most amount of entries from Iran. We are still trying to figure that one out!" said competition founder, Nick Hallam.

The Positive Poster team hope to reach 1000 entries this year.

The winner will also get Adobe CS5, Wacom Intuos 4 Tablet, Pantone Colour Bridge, IdN Feature Article, IdN Subscription, Spook Mag Subscription, Fat Clothing Voucher and a Keep Cup.

Last years winner came from Slovakia. His poster was seen all over Melbourne, and even travelled to the North and South Pole.

The friendly faces of Positive Posters are a small group of young volunteers, mostly students and new graduates who are all passionate about positive design and the power it can have. Each year they hold a design competition, judge the winner, hold an exhibition and then publish the winning poster around the world.
