On 13 November 2008, from 6-10pm, some of the most recognised names and industry leaders for Design Sustainability will gather to present their strategies and suggestions for practical activism within a design practice. Following the presentations by Marc Alt, Brian Dougherty and Eric Karjaluoto, the GDC/VI President, Valerie Elliott will moderate a question and answer period.



Marc Alt is president of Marc Alt + Partners, a design, research and brand strategy agency dedicated to sustainable innovation. Marc Alt speaks frequently to a wide variety of audiences and companies about green design, sustainability and creating value by aligning corporate strategy with environmental and social benefit.



Brian Dougherty is a founding partner at Celery Design Collaborative and a recognized leader in green design. As creative director at Celery, Brian does cutting edge design and brand strategy work for green businesses, non-profits, and major corporations in North America and Europe.



Eric Karjaluoto is a designer, serial entrepreneur, and author of numerous articles on design. He is a founding partner at smashLAB, a strategic interactive agency located in Vancouver, Canada.
