Montreal (Canada) - From 4-7 September 2008, the IFA's 9th Global Conference on Ageing and Expo Ageing & Design will provide opportunities for increased understanding of the major issues related to aging and explore the way that design, in its broadest term, impacts on the lives of older people everywhere.

While online registration is closed, registration will still take place on premises.

From health care concerns such as extended care facilities to HIV, security, financial planning, healthcare and participation, we are exploring how we need to design environments for an aging population. Led by IFA's international partners, who include some of the most influential NGOs, governments and academics, the conference will focus on the newest findings in research, policy and practice.

"This year's Conference Programme is impressive," states IFA President and Co-Chair of the Conference, Irene Hoskins. "This programme reflects the importance of ensuring enabling and supportive environments, a key priority set out in the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA)", she also pointed out as she expressed satisfaction that this Conference is addressing the most pressing issues facing the global ageing community today.
