ico-D is pleased to endorse DesignThinkers Toronto 2018 organised by Member Association of Registered Graphic Designers. The conference takes place on 24 - 25 October 2018.

 
DesignThinkers is an annual conference. The mission is to gather diverse perspectives to explore the processes of design and creativity. The audience is primarily creative directors, art directors, communication designers and student designers. This year's theme for DesignThinkers is Speak the Truth. The conference is composed of two keynotes per day and then four concurrent streams of talks: Inspiration, Trends, Strategy and Interactions
 
Speak the Truth presenters will cover one or more of the following, through examples from their work, as well as helping our attendees to apply insights into their own work:
 
  • explore the processes of design and design thinking, such as in order to develop positive relationships with clients, develop more meaningful work, etc.
     
  • reflect on the role of communication design in business and society and the value it offers
     
  • examine how the design and communications industries are changing based on trends, such as in technology, demographics or business

About ico-D Endorsements

Each year, ico-D endorses a select group of international activities that advance our objective to promote the value of design. Endorsed events demonstrate that they enhance the standards of design, ethics and professional practice. For design awards, an ico-D endorsement is recognition that it has been organised to meet international best practice guidelines under ico-D’s policies and best practices—including jury composition, evaluation criteria and intellectual property protection.
