CALL FOR ENTRIES: TAIWAN INTERNATIONAL CI DESIGN AWARD 2009

In order to promote Taiwan's comprehensive application of commercial design capabilities and to reflect the rising importance of corporate identity (CI), the Department of Commerce, MOEA, will host the Taiwan International CI Design Award. Outstanding works of commercial value and international vision will be selected to foster corporate recognition of CI, raise public awareness of design's potential and establish a model example in the design world.

Eligibility

The competition is open to designers from all regions and countries. All entries must be created after June 2007.

Participation in this activity is free of charge.

Categories

Corporate Identity: All design works and signs for corporate and institutions.
Event Identity: Signs and related application works for commercial events.

Awards

A total of eight winners will be selected for the following awards:
  • Two Gold Medals
  • Two Silver Medals
  • Two Bronze Medals
  • Two Local New Talents Awards

All winning entries will be awarded with a medal and a certificate of honour. Exhibitions will be held and publications will be edited as promotional means.

Judging criteria

The entries will be judged based on commercial values, authenticity, delivery of theme.

Judge panel

The judging committee consists of prominent domestic and foreign professionals selected by the organiser.

  • Xinggong Wang (Taiwan), Founder of Wang & Design, Associate professor of the Department of Industrial and Commercial Design, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology
  • Taky Satoh (Japan), leader of "Taku Satoh Design Office" received the Tokyo TDC Award in Tokyo and the ADC silver award in New York
  • Vince Frost (Australia), leader of "Frost Design"
  • Debbie Millman (United States), president of Sterling Brands

Usage of prize-winning works

Award winning entries will be included in the "Taiwan International CI Design Award" special publication

Award winning entries will be published on the "Commercial Service Design Development Plan" website and related promotional publications.

Award winning entries will be exhibited in events related to this project.

Submission

Online registration: Please send in personal information, information of the entry and upload the image file.

Registration in writing: Please submit with the entry the filled-out registration form, authorisation letter and the entry description tag.

By mail: Entries should be postmarked by 31 August 2009 (according to mail stamp). For identification reasons, please attach the entry no. on the package and all forms.

Announcement of winners

The list of award-winners shall reflect the judges' final decision. The implementing organisation shall notify all winners within 15 day.

The Taiwan International CI Design Award is hosted by Department of Commercial Affairs, MOEA, and organised by China Productivity Center and The Graphic Design Association of the Republic of China.
